Meet Dr. Gloria Yañez

Dr. Gloria Yañez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She completed her undergraduate studies at Our Lady of the Lake University with a BA degree in Chemistry. Before pursuing a career in dentistry, she worked in the chemical industry in Houston, Texas for several years as a chemist. Her strong desire to return to school and pursue a career in dentistry sent her back to school as Post Baccalaureate at the University of Houston and San Jacinto College to get her biology requirements for dental school. In May 2003, she graduated from dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Yañez worked at Gateway Community Clinic in Laredo, Texas for two years as a general dentist. Working primarily with children, she realized her passion and decided to specialize in pediatric dentistry. She returned to school and attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry where she completed her specialization in June 2007. Since then she has worked in private practice followed by a long tenure at United Medical Centers in Eagle Pass and Del Rio where she served as Dental Director for five years.

Dr. Yañez is skilled in all phases of pediatric dentistry and is fluent in Spanish. Her mission is to help younger patients overcome any dental fears and build their trust while providing care and education that promote good dental habits and healthy smiles. She is grateful for having the opportunity and the privilege to serve as a pediatric dentist and is committed to excellence in providing quality dentistry for children and adolescents in a caring and compassionate environment.
